Quail and duck seasons confirmed for SA

Duck and quail hunting seasons have been confirmed for South Australia in 2023. The duck hunting season begins 30 minutes prior to sunrise on Saturday, March 18 and closes 30 minutes after sunset on Sunday, June 25. A bag limit of eight ducks per day applies and only specific species of duck are permitted for hunting.

The stubble quail hunting season will start on Saturday, April 29 and finish on Sunday July 30. Stubble quail may only be taken 30 minutes prior to sunrise and 30 minutes after sunset during the season dates. A bag limit of 25 quail applies each day and only stubble quail may be hunted. Hunters must hold a permit to hunt both species of bird and more information can be found on South Australia’s Department for Environment and Water website.
