Press Council win a “joy for shooters”

The Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia (SSAA National) Inc considers The Australian’s headline of April 29, 1998 both insensitive and completely misleading and the Association is delighted with the Australian Press Council’s decision to uphold its complaint against the newspaper in respect of the headline.

SSAA National takes great comfort from finally seeing a media outlet called to account for its poor treatment of firearm-related matters and the Association intends to vigorously pursue any similar lapse in standards in the future where shooters’ legitimate interests are concerned.
