No thanks: Kiwis reject ridiculous firearms report

A whopping 12 recommendations from the recent Kiwi government inquiry into the illicit firearms market have been knocked back by the Police Minister. Suggestions such as requiring a licence to possess ammunition, making dealers record ammunition sales and restricting self-loading rifles and shotguns were outright rejected.

Seven recommendations were accepted, one with conditions, while two further recommendations were made, including for police to improve its consultation process with the firearms community. The SSAA provided a submission to this inquiry.
