Scientists and land managers alike are being encouraged to recruit hunters to help as data collectors. While speaking at the National Feral Pig Conference the concept of hunters acting as citizen scientists was a hot topic, with Queensland Country Life speaking to The Australian Pig Doggers and Hunters Association and Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia (SSAA National) Wildlife Programs Leader Matthew Godson about the benefits of hunters helping with more than pest animal management when helping landowners and working in national parks.
