Australia Votes 2025

Ensure your vote is counted this Saturday on election day.
As you would all be aware, every electorate has different candidates often from a different mix of political parties.
There are parties who have traditionally been more aware of and aligned with the needs of shooters. For example, the Liberal/National Coalition were kind enough to provide us with the following statement for our members –
The Coalition recognises that many Australians lawfully and responsibly participate in a wide range of shooting activities, including recreational shooting.

The licensing, possession and use of firearms within Australia is a matter for the states and territories, with the Commonwealth responsible for the importation of firearms into Australia.

The Coalition will work closely with states and territories to maintain a consistent national approach to the management of firearms, supported by effective information sharing systems and strong laws to deter the criminal use of firearms.
Wherever possible, make sure you are talking with the candidates in your electorate to see who is going to best represent your needs and views in relation to firearms and shooting.
When you do get to the ballot box, Australia’s preferential voting system means that you get to put candidates in order of who you think will best represent you and your interests. To assist with guidance in relation to preferential voting in both houses, here are a couple of short videos to help.
