The 2019 Queensland Field Rifle state championships

The SSAA Queensland 2019 Field Rifle, NRA 3-Position Any Sight and 4-Position state championship were held at Eidsvold Branch over the weekend of August 23-25. On the Friday practice day shooters had the opportunity to attend a training clinic with Allan Murray. The questions came thick and fast and Allan did a great job of explaining the finer points of target shooting.

Saturday was Field Rifle day starting with Rimfire Field Rifle in the morning, Greg Riemer taking out the match with 367.05, followed by Russell Juilerat on 365.03 and Allan Murray in third with 363.03.

Centrefire Field Rifle took place after lunch, Riemer once again topping the ladder with 373.07, Murray a close second on 372.03 and Juilerat third with 371.04. Field Rifle two-gun was won by Riemer on 740.12 ahead of Juilerat on 736.07 and Murray with 735.06. Junior 11-15 was won by Max Olufson on 618.02 and Junior 15+ by Tayne Harvey with 715.00.

Day two started with Rimfire NRA 3-Position Any Sights (3 x 20), Jennifer Ingram victorious with 551.09 followed by James Perry on 541.13 and Riemer on 537.12. Centrefire 4-P took place after the break, Murray winning with 350.03, ahead of Riemer on 334.02 and Perry in third with 321.02.

Positional two-gun was won by Murray on 885.13 followed by Riemer’s 871.14 and Ingram in third with 865.10 Allan Murray won the 2019 Queensland state title with a 4-gun total of 1620.19, Riemer second on 1611.26 and Ingram third with 1566.13.
