SSAA Queensland Muzzleloading State Titles

The 2014 SSAA Queensland Muzzleloading State Titles were held at the SSAA Mackay Branch on October 11 and 12. A total of 14 competitors lined up for what has become a customary hectic weekend at the Mackay range – Muzzleloaders are slow and there are 21 events to get through after all! It did go well, thanks to the Mackay branch and those who volunteered and gave up their time to assist. A special mention must be made of Mick Bennett in that regard.

On an unusual note, I do not know of any other branch in Australia where a cane train passes between the camping grounds and range complex, a short distance of around 100m. You watch, and hear, the empty bins go out and full ones come back, several times during the day and night. It is a picturesque range though, elevated at the end of a small valley and hemmed in by hills on both sides. A nice view looking back down the valley.
