National Championship 2024
5 Oct 2024 - Eagle Park Shooting Complex, Little River. Victoria
Big Game Rifle competitors returned to Victoria for the second year running to contest the National Championship. The hosting club (the Big Game Rifle Club of Victoria, or BGRC Vic) had shortened the event to a one day event and reduced the course of fire, plus made a few other changes in recognition of the current shortage of ammunition and components. While some felt “short changed” in only having a days shooting, despite having travelled from interstate, the event was still earnestly contested and enjoyed by all. “Better than not having an event” was also a comment overheard. In the eventual roundup of results Graeme Wright came out on top adding to his already impressive list of National championships (eight I think) and also to his earlier win in the international Big Game Rifle shoot held in August in Darwin. However it was definietely a close fought match, as Mark Hibbert was only 2.2% behind. Top ten results are uploaded, as well as some photos. Story By Mark Hibbert – BGR National Disciplie Chair.
