Bob’s best takes Big Game Rifle title

The 2019 Big Game Rifle national championships were hosted by SSAA Darwin at their Mickett Creek Shooting Complex in May and featured the eight core events including four stalking rifle, four stopping rifle and a further four supplementary events.

After a highly competitive weekend, the overall title went to Bob Christopher of Victoria ahead of Mark Hibbert (Qld) and Mark Savage (Vic). Savage took out the opening round by a four-point margin, Hibbert and Christopher neck-and-neck after round two with the latter pulling clear in the Group 2 event then sealing the title with a dominant performance in Stopping Double Rifle, finishing with three first places, a second and two thirds.
