Benchrest Group Medal Awards

  1. All financial members of the SSAA may compete. Awards are free. There is no restriction on rifle or firing position.
  2. All awards must be shot on a SSAA range and witnessed by the official range officer only.
  3. Members may win only one of each award.
  4. Targets may be of members own choice, but there must be no patched out holes or more than one group on the target. Targets must be full size and not with the group cut out of it.
  5. If the shots cannot be counted the group must be accompanied by a backing strip or other acceptable verification material, tangible, not verbal. Both the target and the backer must be witnessed by the Range Officer. The Range Officer or his appointed deputy shall supervise the posting, shooting, and retrieving of the target and backing strip.
  6. The following details must be listed on the claim form which must accompany the target. Name, address, membership expiry date from card, calibre, action, barrel, power and brand of telescopic sight, powder weight and type, case, primer, projectile brand weight and type, SSAA range shot on, signature and range officer's signature and date shot. Failure to list all these items will result in disqualification of target.
  7. All targets must be forwarded direct to: SSAA Benchrest Group Award Secretary (With sufficient postage, insufficient postage will render disqualification.)

Silver Award – May be won by any SSAA member who can shoot a five shot group at 100 yards, measuring less than one inch centre to centre.

Gold Award – May be won by any SSAA member who can shoot a ten shot group at 100 yards, measuring less than one inch centre to centre.

Ruby Award – May be won by any SSAA member who can shoot a five shot group at 200 yards, measuring less than one inch centre to centre.

Diamond Award – May be won by any SSAA member who can shoot a ten shot group at 200 yards, measuring less than one inch centre to centre.
