In these times where longevity seems a redundant quality, it’s both pleasing and somewhat mind-blowing to consider the fact that iconic Italian firearms manufacturer Beretta is celebrating 500 years in business and still run by the same family. Few companies in the world can boast such a proud history and, with that in mind, one of our most senior contributors, Paul Miller, spent time at Beretta HQ in Lombardy earlier this year and has penned a three-part special. This month we launch with Part One and Paul’s take on the history of a company which prides itself in firearms manufacture of the very highest quality.
