SSAA Bullfinch Shooting Club
Western Australia Club Profile

The Bullfinch Shooting Club was established in 1994 and is situated on private property in a piece of secluded timbered land 25km north-east of Southern Cross, 405km from Perth.
The club was the dream of two shooting buddies, Paddy Firkins and Ron Burro, who became the original founding members. They first built the club as a private range but when it developed further, they decided to have it registered as a SSAA range. Paddy and Ron both believe that every person has the right to learn good shooting ethics and be taught the safe handling of firearms.
After a meeting at the Bullfinch Hotel in early 1994, the Bullfinch Shooting Club was formed. There were about 17 shooting members at the time.
During the first few years, the disciplines primarily consisted of .22-calibre Field Rifle, 3-Positional and Silhouette. Other disciplines such as Practical Pistol, Service Pistol, Action Match and Field Pistol were slowly added. Pistol events are very popular at the moment and the club is looking at running Single Action Shooting in the future.
The club consists of two pistol ranges and one rifle/shotgun range, all of which are under cover and fully powered. There is a clubhouse and an ablutions block with showers, toilets and a change room. The club also has wheelchair facilities.
The club shoots on Saturday nights during the summer months and Sunday mornings during the winter. The club has about 20 members and always welcomes new shooters. Bullfinch is also very family-orientated.
This club is home to Darryl ‘Osca’ Carnicelli, who is currently the SSAA National Champion for Action Match in Open Class. He has also competed in the prestigious Bianchi Cup, coming 16th overall in the world. All members would like to express their congratulations to Darryl.
