Little River Sporting Clays

Victoria Club Profile

Eagle Park is the home of the Little River Sporting Clays at the SSAA shooting complex. Paul Bisping and Arthur Rawlinson started the club in the mid 80s with about 10 members shooting skeet on the weekends. Now, with new clubhouses and sporting clay competitions, the club boasts more than 100 regular shooters.

Sadly, Paul Bisping passed away last year and the new club president is John Disher. John has been a member of the SSAA for many years. Starting out in the Field Rifle Group, he is passionate about the sport and works hard to make Little River Sporting Clays a success. John has facilitated big changes to the club, the most recent being the clubhouses for the main range and the shotgun club. With the new club room and updated facilities, John is hoping to increase the number of female members and families.

Little River Sporting Clays strongly supports its junior members. John believes juniors are the future of our sport, and the quality coming through Little River Sporting Clays is high. Juniors are encouraged to shoot as often as possible, made possible by the strict rule that juniors are not charged. John believes this will encourage our future champions to remain passionate about the sport and develop lifelong relationships with the club.

Little River Sporting Clays hopes to build its reputation as a family orientated club and aims to host the Oceania Championships for 2004. The future of this shotgun club is bright.
