SSAA Spring Bay Pistol Club

Tasmania Club Profile

SSAA Spring Bay Pistol Club Inc is one of the SSAA’s newest branches. It is situated on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania, 11km north of the fishing village of Triabunna.

The club is a 50m range, but a variety of modified disciplines are shot on it. These disciplines include Silhouette Pistol, Service Pistol, Practical Pistol, Centrefire and Sport Pistol and Standard and Free Pistol. Silhouette and Field Rifle disciplines have also recently been added to the line-up. The range boasts 10 shooting bays with turning targets on the inner range and an outside range where Silhouette Rifle and Pistol shooting, as well as Practical Pistol shooting with a moving target, is conducted.

Shoots are held every Sunday from 10am. Club President Denise Parr would like all visitors and prospective members to know they are always welcome to call in for a look.

The club has a clubhouse with a kitchen, where meetings and fundraising functions are held. These are always popular and well attended.

The club was formed 21 years ago. At the 20th anniversary celebration held in 2006, many of the inaugural members attended. Indeed, the club is lucky enough to have six of these original members still shooting at the club on a regular basis.

While the SSAA Spring Bay Pistol Club’s membership is not large, you can always be assured of a hospitable welcome and a social day of shooting.
