Hurstville unregistered firearms arrest

Two people have been charged following a lengthy police investigation that resulted in the seizure of a number of firearms yesterday.
Police from Crime Agencies Firearms Trafficking Unit seized eleven handguns with a street value of approximately $50,000 as well as small amounts of cannabis and ecstasy during a search warrant on a house in South Hurstville yesterday afternoon.
A 32-year-old Hurstville man was been charged with a number of offences including 11 counts of: possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing a firearm with an altered identification, possessing a firearm whilst unlicensed and not keeping a firearm with safety.
He was refused bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court this morning.
A 32-year-old Hurstville woman was also charged with eleven counts of possessing a firearm whilst unlicensed and was bailed to appear at Sutherland Local Court on 7 February 2002.
