Victoria's most prominent forensic psychologist has been charged on summons with drug offences.
Timothy Watson-Munro, 46, of Hawthorn, is charged with using and possessing cocaine between January 1, 1997, and September 12, this year.
Mr Watson-Munro, profiler of some of Melbourne's most prominent crininals including child killer Mr Cruel, was questioned by the drug squad in September as part of Operation Regent.
He is due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' court on December 14.
If convicted, he could face a maximum jail term of five years.
Mr Watson-Munro has counselled underworld figures including standover man and alleged murderer Alphonse Gangitano - a client for 18 months before his execution-style slaying-and Hoddle St gunman Julian Knight. He also counselled four of the Hoddle St survivors and has given evidence at several high-profile criminal cases. The charges against Mr Watson-Munro come two months after prominent criminal lawyer Andrew Fraser was charged with trafficking, using and possessing cocaine.
