Prime Minister Howard's threat to ban semi auto guns

READER..The Prime Minister is about to announce he's acting on his threat to take action to enforce the national agreement on tougher gun laws.
As Premiers walked out of last week's meeting with the Commonwealth, Mr. Howard threatened to use all the powers available to him to ensure compliance with the laws.
He singled out sales tax and custom powers.
Mr. Howard has now told the Coalition party room the Government is proposing to change customs laws to prohibit the importation of any weapon which does not comply with the national agreement.
