re: Advertising - Cash in the Bag

Dear Mr. Fleetwood,

Thank you for your recent telephone call. The Smith's Snackfood Company welcomes consumer feedback as a means of assessing the quality and acceptability of our products in the market place, and we appreciate the opportunity to respond to your query.

As indicated, the advertisement for our Cash in the Bag promotion was intended to present in a light hearted/tongue in cheek manner, that consumers could win real cash inside Smiths packs instantly. The bank robbery setting was used as a "backdrop", and the characters within the advertisement were purposely made larger than life. It was certainly never our intention to offend our consumers.

This particular advertisement is planned to be on air for a short time (approximately 3 weeks) to support the promotion. Nonetheless, your feedback has been noted and passed on to our Marketing Department for consideration as part of the development of any future advertising campaigns.

Thank you once again for taking the time to contact us.

Yours sincerely,
