Dear Sir,
I am in possession of a letter from the NSW Police service (Firearms Registry) Date integrity officer, dated 11/4/97.
The letter informs me that my shooters licence will be cancelled and that I will also be liable for a penalty and I quote "not providing detail of a change of address".
The fact is that I have a receipt from the Coonabarabran Police Station which indicates that the releveant details were changed on the 21 December 1993, three days after taking up residence.
I am amazed at this unit was good enough to manage to find me and even more amazed that they managed not to update their documents but of course they only had two and a half years to do so.
This department is going to be responsible to keep track of millions of items. God help us all, they can't even change an address when they are given it.
Yours with delusions
