(Question No. 2151)
Senator Troeth asked the Minister representing the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Status of Women, upon notice, on 22 May 1995:
Is there any federal funding provided to the Women's Electoral Lobby, if so, how much will be provided for the 1995-96 financial year?
Senator Crowley - the answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:
The Women's Electoral Lobby has received operational funding from the Office of the Status of Women since the 1985-86 financial year...This funding is provided to major national women's organisations to assist them with the costs of running their national offices and activities which reflect the priorities of the New National Agenda for Women.
Edited version
SSAA comment: The Women's Electoral Lobby is funded by the Australian taxpayer, even those who own firearms. When we read the book written by anti gun advocate John Crook, "THE AUSTRALIAN GUN WAR" we find that he makes the following announcement in the front cover, and we quote;
"This book is dedicated to Anne Gunter of The Womens Electoral Lobby, as a mark of respect for the great assistance she has given to the gun control movement."
Anne also achieves a mention in the list known as "Anti Gun Lobby Inc." we quote;
