SSAA’s Comprehensive Guide to Shooting & Hunting in Australia is a new publication from SSAA National. At 140 pages, this high-quality glossy magazine is an introduction to the SSAA, firearms, the shooting sports and recreational hunting in Australia.
Produced with the cooperation of SSAA’s shooting competition chairmen and women, the Comprehensive Guide showcases more than a dozen of the SSAA’s popular shooting competitions and provides details for readers to learn how to get out there and have a go. It also features three important sections on how to safely handle rifles, shotguns and handguns and tips for mastering various shooting positions and techniques.
The important and valuable pastime of hunting is well covered too, with information about safety, ethics and etiquette in the field, trip planning, field shooting techniques, knowing your target animal and how to choose the right cartridge for that animal. A snapshot of the hunting rules, regulations, licensing and fees for each Australian state and territory is also provided.
The Comprehensive Guide is an introductory publication for those new to the SSAA or to sports shooting in general and as such, will be sold at newsagencies around Australia for $8.95.
