Texas Independence Set and Kentucky pistol with wood case

To celebrate the 170th anniversary of the Alamo and San Jacinto battles (March 6 and April 21, 1836), Davide Pedersoli wants to remember the men who died fighting for Texas independence and who wrote one of the most important and indelible pages of the American history.

The Texas Independence Set is offered as a commemorative pair for the two significant historical events. It contains a Navy Moll pistol and a Bowie knife - two symbols of the American individual equipment used in the first half of the 19th century.

The pistol, made with maple stock enriched by a brass butt-stock, is available in a flintlock and percussion version. The .45-calibre, rifle barrel has 12 grooves developing a one in 18" twist. The lock has a case-hardened color finish and the furniture is made of brass.

The Bowie knife handle is made of maple. Its total length is 291mm, with the blade 181mm long with a satin finish. Stainless steel is used for the fittings.

The pistol and the knife are nicely displayed into a wood case with the Texas map silhouette on the lid, protected by glass. The inside lining is blue, shaped to receive the pistol. The wood case measures 45.5x21.6x8.3cm.

The possibility to display a pistol of the Kentucky type in a wood case does not end with the Texas Independence Set. Davide Pedersoli offers also the traditional case for one pistol, made of wood with colored shaped lining to display the pistol. The single case measures 45.5.x21.3x7.3cm.

This gun in a handsome wood case can become a sophisticated gift of recognised importance. The gun is available in the standard model of the Kentucky pistol, with blue barrel and case-hardened lock, or the ’Maple‘ model, with the maple stock, brown barrel and satin finish lock. The ’Silver Star‘ finishing is also very striking in appearance, which gives elegance to the pistol, showing a brown barrel and a remarkable degree of craftsmanship in the detail work of the satin finish German silver ornaments set into the stock.

All the Kentucky pistols produced by Pedersoli are available in percussion and flintlock versions and represent the classic style of the models popular in the New World colonies.
