Pan Pacific Masters Games entries open
Anyone of Masters-age can enter one or more of the 34 sports on the program by logging onto www.mastersgames.com.au Organiser of the Pan Pacific Masters Games Queensland Events Gold Coast and general manager Cameron Hart said planning had moved into a new phase for the event, which is set to attract 10,000 people this year. “Our initial phase was finalising our sport’s program, venues, entry system and Games Village,” said Mr Hart. “Now we are focused on attracting more than 10,000 competitors and organising a great and memorable event for them,” said Mr Hart. The first day of competition is Saturday November 1, with the evening including an Opening Ceremony for participants at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. Hart said his team was also busy procuring sponsors for this year’s Pan Pacific Masters Games. “A number of opportunities exist for organisations to partner with the Pan Pacific Masters Games this year, including the naming rights sponsorship. “The event is one of the largest on the Queensland Events calendar and presents some exciting opportunities for corporates to reach an active mature-aged market.” A major Queensland Government initiative managed by Queensland Events Gold Coast, the Pan Pacific Masters Games has stamped itself on the national calendar at the beginning of November every two years. The only criteria for participation is that the minimum Masters-age requirement for each sport is met, which for the majority is 30 years. “What the Games are all about is summed up in our slogan - Play it, Live it, Love it,” said Mr Hart.
