Biography

Sebastian Hume, who was born with cerebral palsy, is a confident young shooter who has risen to become one of the shooting teams’ youngest athletes. He made his first Australian team at the age of 17 and says his biggest achievement to date was being selected for the Australian Open team at the European Championships.

Sebastian has three Australian Junior Team Championships in Air Pistol and Sports Pistol in able-bodied competition, as his disability does not stop him competing in able-bodied competition.

He believes he is a true individual and says that one of the main reasons for is enjoyment and success in shooting is because it is an individual sport and he doesn’t have to rely on other people.

He is also currently studying a Bachelor of Science at Adelaide University.

Sebastian loves listening to metal rock music, with his pick being the band Dragonforce. He also has put out a challenge that at the Beijing Paralympic Games he will be able to eat 40 chicken nuggets. Aside from this, however, a Paralympic medal is his main target.
