Winchester Supreme Double X Magnum shotshells

Hunters who require longer shots at traditional pests can rest assured in the knowledge that Winchester Australia has relaunched the potent Supreme Double X Magnum 12-gauge BB load.

Originally manufactured in the US, the BB shot size was discontinued around three years ago. The load set itself ahead of the competition by virtue of its 2.75" 1.5oz (42g) payload of copper-plated US-sized BBs - the equivalent of Australian BBBs. It was a mainstay of fox shooters for many years, but when existing supplies began to dry up, Winchester Australia started developmental work to replicate the load out of its Geelong, Victoria, factory. The result of this sees the reintroduction of the Australian version, which now carries the identical shot payload with a slightly elevated nominal velocity of 1275fps. The original US load was 1260fps.

Factory tests show the Australian load to be better than ever and initial field trial comments have been extremely positive with shooters reporting outstanding results. The combination of copper-plating and slightly larger shot means tighter patterns with increased long-range performance - foxes that thought they were previously out of range might need to think twice! There are plans to expand the shot size range in future, with a No. 2 size shot equivalent planned for introduction in the future.
