Travroute Australia recently announced their first foray into the personal navigation device (PND) market. Travroute are well known for their premium laptop, UMPC, PDA and smartphone GPS solutions, but are now expanding their expertise to include the feature-rich, low-cost PND.

Managing director of Travroute Australia Boyd Dainton said that with the new PND, Travroute is well positioned to enter the category.

“We have built an excellent reputation in Australia as a premium supplier of GPS navigation products. Our knowledge and experience in the industry should make for a smooth entrance into the market.” Said Mr Dainton.
“With the Australian market reflecting the European trend towards PNDs, we feel Travroute needs a presence. With premium features and at such a low price point, we are confident the new PND will perform very well.”

The PND features spoken street names, distance and direction to turn and communicating in real time where, when and what action to take, so you needn’t take your eyes of the road. It features 3D, 2D and written itinerary views, allowing you see all the steps of your journey in advance.

If you would like to plan your journey to run to the fastest or shortest route, avoid construction or road tolls, the Travroute PND has it covered, allowing you to program into the device your preferred route. It will also alert you to any fixed speed cameras that may be in the area.

The mapping data is provided by global mapping giants, NAVTEQ, who have documented 99.7 per cent of populated Australian highways, roads and addresses.

The Travroute PND can be found in all good retailers at a recommended retail price of $449. For more information, contact Travroute Australia on 03 5831 1884 or visit www.travroute.com.au
