Nioa Trading a Quality Endorsed Company

Nioa proved itself to be one of the best in its field internationally when SAI Global certified the firearm wholesaler as a Quality Endorsed Company.

Following a comprehensive audit by SAI Global, one of the world’s leading certification bodies, Nioa Nominees Pty Ltd - trading as Nioa and Nioa Defence - was found to fully comply with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Standard on June 13 this year.

Nioa managing director Robert Nioa described the certification as a major milestone for the company, which started more than 30 years ago and has grown to become the largest wholesale distributor in the Australian market.

“Achieving ISO 9001 certification confirms our commitment to running a professional organisation and to retaining our position as market leader for many years to come,” said Mr Nioa.

“It was a lengthy and complex process to undertake, but very rewarding considering we are the only company servicing the commercial firearms market in Australasia to successfully achieve certification,” he said.
“Every aspect of our business from purchasing, finance, planning, personnel management, warehousing, legislative compliance, customer service, etc, has been scrutinised by external auditors, measured against international standards and certified as being sound.

“ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally recognised standard that ensures an organisation consistently provides products and services to meet customer and regulatory requirements and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through continual improvement. It ensures commitment to the highest standards and a professional approach to business management.

“In our case, the certification covered the company’s Quality Management System for the marketing, importation, distribution, integration and through-life support, including management of procurement and supply contracts for firearms, weapons systems, ammunition and related products for the commercial, law enforcement and military markets.”

Mr Nioa said the company has grown over the years from a small family business to the largest wholesaler in the market, having to compete against much larger companies in terms of financial and organisational resources.
“Achieving certification now, ensures that we cement the foundations that have got us to where we are and will provide the platform for where we are headed.”

Mr Nioa expressed confidence in the firearms market, adding that every sector where Nioa is concerned has and will continue to grow strongly over the coming decades.

“We are certainly planning and investing in the business accordingly. ISO certification is just another one of those investments needed to secure the future success of the company.”
