Total outdoor protection with the new KTi Mini-Sat PLB

Outdoor enthusiasts now have access to the latest in cutting-edge Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) technology with the new 406 MHz Mini-Sat from EPIRB manufacturing specialist, Kinetic Technology International (KTi).

The KTi Mini-Sat PLB, when manually activated, transmits a distinctive digital signal on the 406MHz international distress frequencies via satellite to rescue authorities.

Setting an unprecedented world standard in PLB design and performance, the new KTi 406MHz MINI-SAT is compact, fast and reliable. Ideal for hunters, bushwalkers and four-wheel drivers, the KTi Mini-Sat PLB is the ultimate global rescue link for people who want peace of mind wherever they are on earth.

Built to replace the popular KTi RB3 beacon, the 406 MHz Mini-Sat harnesses the more accurate 406MHz COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system to deliver pinpoint detection accuracy and faster rescue response times. The Mini-Sat also incorporates a 121.5MHz homing transmitter.

Bursting with features not yet seen in comparable safety beacons, the KTi Mini-Sat is the smallest PLB on the market and boasts true shirt-pocket size at only 265cm3.

The KTi Mini-Sat leads the world not only in design and technology, but breaks new ground in efficiency with an industry leading 10-year battery life. Ultra-low current circuitry and a patented low-loss aerial system delivers performance that far exceeds the COSPAS SARSAT requirements of 24 hours continuous transmission at -20C.

The KTi Mini-Sat is a great adventure companion, with a sleek, rounded profile and a miserly 220g bodyweight. A solid 10-year warranty is proof of the Mini-Sat’s reliability, while the case design provides inherent unassisted buoyancy.

Added safety features include a high-intensity strobe, a large surface signalling mirror, a SOLAS-approved integral retro-reflector, a compact and flexible multi-positioning aerial and comprehensive self-diagnostic test check of radio frequency power and main activation switch.

For added levels of safety, KTi also offers the GPS equipped Mini-Sat-G giving the PLB the highest possible location accuracy. The multi-helix GPS aerial design is highly resistant to shielding while tracking the GPS satellites.

To ensure adherence to ICAO Aviation hazard regulations, the KTi Mini-Sat specifically uses non-hazmat LiFO2 batteries that are suitable for transport in passenger aircraft. The KTi Mini-Sat is designed to COSPAS-SARSAT CS.T001 class II, AS/NZS 4280.2 standards.
