This shoot is run on behalf of the Victoria Police Blue Ribbon Foundation and all proceeds for the day go directly to the Goulburn Valley Hospital.
More than 100 shooters participated on the day, including local police. It was a great turnout for a small club, with the Blue Ribbon Foundation selling their wares. Several thousand dollars was raised and it was a great success for everyone involved.
The day was well covered by the local television station WinTV and paper and media representatives were taken onto the range and introduced to shooting under the supervision of club members.

the Blue Ribbon Day.Two local politicians, Member for Murray Dr Sharman Stone and Member for Shepparton Jeanette Powell, also attended the shoot. Both pulled on shooting jackets and had a crack at the clays. Given that it was pre-election, we were lucky to have Sharman come back for the presentations, but she supports the show every year and it’s always good to see her.
Around 40 sponsors chipped in with prizes, ranging from a swag to nights out at local restaurants.
The Blue Ribbon Shoot gets bigger every year with many members from other clubs now participating. It’s a great shoot for charity and a wonderful promotional tool for the shooting sports and the SSAA.
