SA German Iron-Ring Target Match
6 October 2007
SSAA Adelaide Black Powder Muzzleloading Club

On October 6, 21 black powder riflemen attended the Castambul Schiebstand for the purpose of firing 12 lead projectiles at the club’s German ring target, aiming of course at the bull, a 2" (approx) diameter knocker set up at 100m.

The target is a large circular slab of cast iron about 1m diameter, 30mm thick and incised with 13 rings, the bull being scored as 13 points. The bull was hit only twice during the whole match.

The winner was Stephen Wade with a score of 134 out of a possible 156, using a German breechloading Schutzen rifle. Second place was Garry Nicholson with 122, using a Class 3 ML, and third to Alan Groom with 121, using a P-H P’53 Enfield.
