2007 WA Single Action State Titles
2-4 June 2007

The Foundation Day Long Weekend (June 2 to 4) heralded the scene in sunny Jarrahdale for the WA Single Action State Titles. As it turned out, the weather was absolutely beautiful. With blue skies and cool weather, it made for perfect shooting - not like the last time the State Titles were held at the Jarrahdale Shooting Complex, when it poured down!

Competitors from all over the state came for ‘The Game’. Even Morg’s Marunders, a squad of Bushwhacking Yankees from North Queensland came to try and whoop the Southerners - and they did a pretty good job of it too! Posses were organised and a mixture of shooters from all clubs teamed up for the three days of shooting.

A shindig was held on the Sunday night, where roast pork, lamb and venison was served and devoured by a lot of hungry and tired cowboys and cowgirls.

The level of shooting and competition was very high. The presentation of medals and trophies was conducted on the Monday by Sheriff Charo and state delegate Cheyenne Bodie. The Queenslanders took a fair swag of them and two of WA’s Junior shooters did themselves and us proud by taking some medals home with them. At the end of the event, a lot of friends had been made and the ‘Spirit of the Game’ was alive and well. I think our friends from Queensland were impressed with the facilities and the way the competition was run.
