World Action Pistol Championships 2008

The 6th NRA World Action Pistol Championships will be held in conjunction with the Kiwi Cup Action Pistol Championships at Hamilton Pistol Club, Hamilton, New Zealand, on 5-8 November 2008. This is the second time Hamilton Pistol Club has hosted this prestigious event, which has also been hosted previously twice in Australia, and twice in the USA.

All entries in the World Action Pistol event will automatically be entered in the Kiwi Cup event. Competitors entering both the Open and Metallic Sights divisions must nominate which gun they wish to compete for match awards with. Shooters competing in both Open and Metallic Sights divisions will only be eligible for prizes for the nominated handgun and the aggregate Ironman awards in both the World Action Pistol event and the Kiwi Cup event.

All entries in the World Action Pistol event will receive one complimentary entry to the awards dinner held on the night of the 8th of November, where all the World Action Pistol events awards will be given. Shooters entering the Kiwi Cup event only can optionally purchase a ticket for the awards dinner, and all shooters can purchase extra tickets for family and friends as required.

All paid entries received no later than the 31st of August 2008 will go in the draw to win bonus sponsor prizes during the events. No entries will be accepted for the World Action Pistol event after 20th October 2008. Entries will be accepted for the Kiwi Cup event at any time prior to start of the event.

Entries for the World Action Pistol event include complimentary match gift pack, awards dinner ticket and Kiwi Cup event entry. Kiwi Cup entries do not include any gift souvenir items (but these may be available for purchase).

Saturday Nov 1 – Practice Day
All 4 event ranges available, "self RO'ing", AP-1 targets available for purchase.

Sunday Nov 2 – "Pre-Match" Tournament
Full 4 event aggregate match, Open or Metallic (one gun only), no awards.

Monday Nov 3 – Practice Day
All 4 event ranges available.

Tuesday Nov 4 – Practice Day
All 4 event ranges available. Informal evening meeting.

Wednesday Nov 5 – Main Competition Day 1
Official Match Opening. Metallic Sights competition, begins, shooting 3 events.

Thursday Nov 6 – Main Competition Day 2
Metallic Sights competition concludes, shooting 1 event. Open competition begins, shooting 1 event.

Friday Nov 7 – Main Competition Day 3
Open competition continues, shooting 2 events.

Saturday Nov 8 – Main Competition Day 4
Open competition concludes, shooting 1 event. Kiwi Cup awards on range. World Champs prize-giving dinner.
