Democratic society or dictatorship?
Inverell Times, Page 6. Friday, 6 November 2009
I see the arm of the law (Friday October 23, Police Target Guns) is checking on all gun ownership to see that this law introduced by a paranoid Liberal Government in compliance with an International Treaty is adhered to otherwise strict enforcement will be carried out.
Are we living in a free Democratic Society or a Dictatorship? That is for you to decide.
In my instance I was forced to give up a valued possession, a keepsake given to me by my father I valued it not as a gun but as the first gift given to me by my father.
I might add if I still owned it, it would be over 100 years old.
Admittedly I could still have it under strict regulations locked away in a bolted down steel -cabinet, but who wants a keepsake where one has to obtain a key to see it or show it to someone who you hope you can trust.
This law has not stopped the sale of illegal weapons to those who need them, nor has it stopped the use of weapons in assaults or robberies. All it has done is restrict the life of the innocent As well as that it has increased the feral population especially foxes where before this law spot lighting was done which helped to keep the feral population down.
Now this has virtually stopped.
The only method now is poison bait (once again under strict supervision) a cruel and painful death to the fox or any other victim feral or otherwise.
