Rimfire hotly contested at Glen Innes

Sixteen members of the Sporting Shooters’ Association shot a variety of events at the Emmaville range on Sunday.
First in the Service Rifle deliberate fire discipline over 300 yards was Evan Brown with Peter Nimmett second and Terry Winter third.
The three position discipline over 300, 200 and 100 yards again went to Brown with a score of 131.5. Second was Paul Ward with 99.3 with Geoff Parker in third place with 94 points.
Rimfire events were hotly contested with Gary Meehan shooting the smallest group of 6mm with John Griffey second on 11mm and Peter Nimmett third on 16mm. This set the pace for the target event where Evan Brown was first with 191 points from John Griffey 187 and Gary Meehan 172.
The centrefire group over 100 yards was won by John Griffey with 16.5mm from Evan Brown with 20mm and Paul Ward with 48.5mm. The scored target event resulted in a tie for first with John Griffey and Evan Brown each with 200 possible points from Geoff Parker with 176 points.
