Sgt Stuart Mearns, from the Margaret River cop shop, called IC to tell us, through a mouthful of rabbit stew, that his decision to grant Ian “Grumpy” Parmenter a gun licence was one of his cleverer decisions.
We reported last week that the mild-mannered food and wine personality had his new gun licence less than a day when he shot three bunnies in his vineyard. He promised to cook the local coppers a Provencal rabbit stew “I can confirm that the rabbit stew is very, very nice,” Mearns told us when we called at lunchtime.
“We’re having it for crib at the moment.
And no bullets in it, which is good,” he said.
