Sunday saw seven members of the Sporting Shooters Association brave gale force winds in a number of rimfire rifle events at the Emmaville range. Despite the appalling conditions there were one or two outstanding performance. The five-round group event saw Evan Brown lead the way with a group measuring 12.04mm.
Second was junior Luke Nimmett with 17.62mm just ahead of father Peter who managed 23.47mm.
The first scoring round over 50 metres was won by John Griffey with 48.2 points from Evan Brown on 44.2 with Fred Keelan third with 34 points. The second scoring round over 50 metres resulted in a first for Evan Brown on 90 with John Griffey second with 88 and Fred Keelan third, with 68.
