Local ladies not gun shy

Taking aim at the Mclvor Road Range on Saturday were local ladies Stacey Zuch, brandishing a .22-calibre Beretta and Kelly Whittle with a .22-calibre Ruger. The women were instructed on handling the weapons by Ian McKinna, one of the range officers with the Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia’s Cooktown branch. Mr McKinna said the club was always looking for new members, with current members gearing up for Sunday’s annual John King Memorial shoot.
