An inter-club shoot involving the six Griffith shooting clubs has been organised by the Griffith Sporting Shooters Association.
Organised to start at 9am on Sunday August 30 the special shoot will involve target shooting at the local Pistol Club, Sporting Shooters Range and the Field and Game Club, where participants will undertake target shooting with rimfire target pistols and rifles and sporting clays with shotguns.
All members of the local shooting clubs are welcome, as are other licensed shooters,” Warren Brown, president of the Griffith Sporting Shooters said.
As well, the shoot is also planned as a Come and Try Day’ for anyone without a firearms licence, who may be interested in trying the three different types of target shooting before joining a club.” This shoot will challenge the skills of the all round shooter and be an excellent opportunity for others to sample different types of target shooting. Persons without a licence will be required to complete a declaration form at each range with photo identification.
Juniors (12-18 years) are also welcome but need their form signed by their parent or guardian. Entry is $15 and suitable ammunition will be available for sale at each range.
A range of prizes will be awarded and a free barbecue will be provided at the F&G Club.
Copies of the Shoot Program can be obtained from the Riverina Firearms Centre or by contacting Warren Brown (6962 3161) or Greg Allen (0409 444 955).
