Hutchison says the Western Australian Government is about to spend $600,000 to try to protect the woylies. Adrian Wayne, chief investigator, Woylie Conservation Research Project, joins the program to discuss this issue. Wayne says woylie is a small kangaroo. They have the blood of a greyhound dog. He adds that the animals play an important role in keeping the bush healthy. He says Western Australia holds the very important population of the animal. He says it is a pandemic that the number of the species is decreasing. Wayne chats about the predatory free zone which was announced by Donna Faragher, Environment Minister. Wayne says that the animals have personalities. Wayne chats about the control of wild cats and foxes in Western Australian forests.
