Rubber-jawed dog traps to replace steel-jawed traps

ABC West Coast SA (Port Lincoln), 06:30 News, 15/04/2009 06:33am

500 dog traps with rubber jaws will be distributed to pastoralists in North SA in the next few months to help combat the wild dingo problem. The new traps will replace the old steel jaw traps which will be outlawed under changes to the National Animal Welfare Code of Practice. The SA Dept of Water Land and Biodiversity Conservation’s Peter Bird says dingoes killing sheep has become a serious problem.
