Natalie gives mustard rabbit a try

Western Times Bathurst, Page: 7. Thursday, 26 March, 2009

“When you live on a farm, there‘s usually some rabbits around,” said Natalie Wood.
“We don’t have many on our property, but you don’t have to go far to find them,” she added.
Keeping in mind they are bound for the table, Natalie said it’s probably better to trap the game instead of shooting them. However, for most people, the best option is to take the easy way out and ask your local butcher if he can help supply you with what you need.
“We haven’t had rabbit for ages at home, but when dad brought home a copy of the new Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia Cooks Companion there was a whole chapter dedicated to rabbit recipes,” she said.
“He decided the mustard rabbit sounded good before handing over the cook book to yours truly.
“Dad said to me cook that one for us,” she said. So, give it a go.
Copies of the SSAA’s Cooks Companion can be ordered by going to the Sporting Shooters’ website at www.ssaa.org.au.
