The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia, Bellingen branch, conducts small bore rifle events at Bellingen Pistol Club’s Gleniffer shooting complex every Saturday, from 1pm.
The benches were full for the first round of the “Ole Smokie” Benchrest shield with 20 shooters facing the targets. Bruce once again taking the lead with a score of 382.1, Hugh second on 379.2 and Pat, 378 David C 377.3, Brian F 372.2, Ian 372.1, Aaron 371.2, Dan, David B & Brett 356, very close scores at the top of the order. In the juniors Jess leads on 338 from Shaun 310, Huon 308 and Max 306. The second event was a three target silhouette benchrest which was won by Ian on 283.1 from Brett on 279.3 and Dan on 279. Next week competitions are Modified benchrest. SSAA can also assist with firearms licences and a “genuine reason” for firearm ownership for its members for target shooting, hunting and collecting. The Bellingen branch now has 3 accredited instructors, for the issuing of category G and R Game Council, hunting licences. For further information contact the SSAA Secretary on 6655 4271.
