The Bellingen Pistol Club’s morning turned into a pleasant day for Saturday’s competition. The Standard Pistol match went to Leon 533, from Bruce 459, Brendan 446, Peter 430, Ross 428, George 412, Harvey 356, David 326. In Men’s Air, Stan shot 508. Next Saturday there is a Centrefire Sports Pistol Match and Air Pistol. Sunday the Practical Pistol shooters have the range.
Target Pistol shooting is a sport for all ages from 12 years up. For more information about Target shooting with Bellingen Pistol Club, contact the secretary on 6655 5073.
The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia Bellingen Branch conducts Smallbore Rifle events at Bellingen Pistol Club’s Gleniffer Shooting Complex every Saturday, from 1pm.
Six first-time shooters at the range kept the range officer and training officer busy while the normal competitions were in progress. Ian top scored in both the Benchrest events scoring 367.4 in the eight Target Event and 277.3 in the three Target Silhouette. Second in the Eight Target went to David B on 365.2 and third to visitor Diane on 337. David B was also second in the Silhouette.
New range fees were introduced on Saturday. Check the notice on the ‘sign on’ bench for details. Next week is the first round of the ‘Ole Smokie’ Benchrest Shield and BR30.
SSAA can also assist with firearms licences and a ‘genuine reason’ for firearm ownership for its members for target shooting, hunting and collecting. The Bellingen Branch now has three accredited instructors, for the issuing of category G and R Game Council hunting licences. For further information, contact the SSAA secretary on 6655 4271.
