Feral pig population explosion in SA’s Riverland

Interview with Roger Kelly, operations team leader, SA Murray Darling Basin NRM Board. The increasing population of feral pigs in the Riverland’s Chowilla area as led to a feral pig program being set up. The NRM Board along with a local action planning group has decided to map the region to help control the feral pigs in the area. Kelly says feral pigs are becoming a big issue for the region as they carry diseases such as tuberculosis which can be passed on to humans.
