One group of red-meat lovers is doing it for themselves. The Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia has released its first Cooks Companion.
“In this plastic-wrapped and sensitive world, where meat is prepared and packaged for us in the supermarket, it is the hunter who still understands the relationship between the environment and ourselves” reads the book’s blurb.
Recipes to try include “Hunter’s satay rabbit”, “goat jalfrezi”, “kangaroo shanks” and today’s personal favourite, “Spaghetti with venison meatballs”. Delicious.
