Hunter Reward program for fox hunters

ABC North Coast NSW (Lismore), Rural Report, 16/02/2009 06:50am

The Hunter Reward program has replaced the bounty system for fox hunting, but will only be available for members of Field & Game Australia or the Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia (SSAA). FGA’s Paul Rice says the program will begin on March 1, with the first prize draw to be held on April 1. Rice says the program aims to encourage the community to address the issues of foxes and explains how the program will operate. Rice says the wide range of culling methods needs to continue, as one tactic will not suffice, and believes the program will encourage greater community participation. Rice says the bounty system has numerous faults.
