Closed-off national parks a haven for weeds and feral animals

Compere Col Campbell says the Queensland Government has gone head-long into wanting to take over large tracts of land and declare them national parks. Campbell says it might be a good feel-good thing that has been performed by former Premier Peter Beattie and current Queensland Premier Anna Bligh, but he wonders if they have increased the number of staff on the ground to manage the national parks. He says it’s not good just closing off the area, because then it simply becomes a haven for weeds and feral animals.
