Game ploy by shooters

Sunday Telegraph, Page: 68. Sunday, 4 January, 2009

What do you get the polite who has everything? The Sporting Shooters ‘ Association of Australia had the answer this Christmas, sending key Government members a copy of its new Cook ‘s Companion, a recipe book for critters you can shoot with a .303 and serve crumbed.
Kevin Rudd, Peter Garrett, Malcolm Turnbull, Bob Debus and Bob Brown were all worthy recipients in the SSAA’s eyes.
“The book is a practical example of what field and game hunting is all about and the recipes cover the most popular game meat animals that we can hunt in the field and showcase the ultimate in organic free-range food,” National President Bob Green writes in the cook book’s intro.
Recipes were sent in by the shooters themselves and, while there were no koala kebabs, venison schnitzel flooded the inbox.
If it takes in the PM’s office, we might soon expect Putin-style shots of a shirtless Kevin stalking fallow deer.
