The Firearms Amendment Act 2008 will adjust some of the laws in NSW to make it easier in some cases to obtain a firearms licence. Interview with Richard Gawned, Executive Officer, NSW Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia, to talk about the change. Gawned says that the new legislations will make it easier for those interested in sport shooting to pursue their interest. Gawned reassures that people still needs to go through a personal history questionnaire in order to obtain a licence and that there is a 28-day waiting period between obtaining the licence and being able to purchase a firearm.
