ABC Riverland SA (Renmark), Morning Show, 16/09/2008 10:16am

Interview with Tim Bannister, spokesman for the Sporting Shooters’ Association of Australia, about the gun buy-back after the Port Arthur mass shootings. Bannister speaks about a recent report by the University of Melbourne, which shows that the Government gun buy-back was unsuccessful in lowering firearm deaths. Bannister says that $700m was misspent. He says that a gun has never killed anyone and that the Government buy-back has only added to resentment in hunters and sports shooters.
